at the Cotters Markets in Flinders Street
on Sunday 17th June 2018, 8.30am – 1.00pm
(Official Opening with massed pipe bands at 10.00am)
Tartan Day celebrates the lifting of the English ban that
prevented the wearing of tartan from 1746 to 1782.
Enjoy the pipes and drums, Scotch on the Rocks (featuring a Scottish tenor from Brisbane), Scottish dancing, and get tips for your family history search. Add your clan to the Clans in Townsville Tree. Watch a demonstration of strength by the Kilted Strongmen. Register in advance to join your clan in the Parade of Tartans!

Special guests from Brisbane: Scotch on the Rocks featuring the beautiful voice of Scottish tenor Brian Bisset.
Scottish Country Dance music by accordionist Bruce Mitchell, Scotch on the Rocks, supported by pipers and drummers.
